Summer is here and Pacific Whale Foundation has an ocean of fun things to do for the whole family, including Ocean Camp offered Monday to Friday through July 25 at Pacific Whale Foundation’s air-conditioned Discovery Center in Ma’alaea. Read on for more information about Ocean Camp and other June events, including a Moonlight Tidepool Exploration on World Oceans Day, June 8.

Ocean Camp 

Pacific Whale Foundation Founder and Executive Director Greg Kaufman will be honored for his years of work on behalf of whale research and conservation, at a Hawaiian luau fundraiser at The Whaling Museum & Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor, New York. The event will take place on Saturday, July 19 at a private home overlooking Huntington Harbor.

The marine education team from Pacific Whale Foundation is offering a summer of fun and adventure through its Ocean Camp for kids ages 5-12.  The weekly sessions take place Monday through Friday (except holidays) beginning on Tuesday, May 27 through Friday, July 25. Camp hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at Pacific Whale Foundation’s air-conditioned Discovery Center in Ma’alaea.

The "Gift of Life" appetizer fundraiser for Pacific Whale Foundation at Fleetwood's on Front Street has been extended for the entire month of April.

Pacific Whale Foundation will offer a rare opportunity to witness a total lunar eclipse at sea on Monday, April 14 when its Full Moon Eco-Adventure coincides with this natural phenomenon between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm. This two-hour moon- and star-gazing cruise will be narrated by Harriet Witt, an international award winning astronomy writer and speaker who will enlighten passengers on the wonders aking place in the night sky.

Calling it a "significant victory in the fight to end whaling," Pacific Whale Foundation is lauding the International Court of Justice's ruling on Monday, March 31, 2014 that Japan’s “scientific whaling” program in the Antarctic Ocean violates the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling.

"We are thrilled that the Court has ordered Japan to immediately cease its scientific whaling program in the Antarctic Ocean," said Lauren Campbell, Conservation Manager at Pacific Whale Foundation.
