Pacific Whale Foundation is now accepting applications for its November /December session of its SeaWees program for preschoolers ages 3 to 5. 
 

 Pacific Whale Foundation is honoring the return of the humpback whales to Maui with its annual "Welcome Home the Whales" Celebration on Saturday, November 30.
 

The public is being asked to keep a lookout for a juvenile humpback whale off Maui that has large green polypropylene line wrapped around its tail flukes, so that a rescue team from the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary will be able to locate it and disentangle it. 
 

With Pacific Whale Foundation vessels reporting lots of humpback whale sightings off Maui during the past week, the nonprofit organization will be launching its whalewatch season starting Monday, November 4. 
 

 
The humpback whales are back! Pacific Whale Foundation reported its first humpback whale sighting of the season off Maui on Saturday, October 5 and has since reported numerous whale sightings. With the return of the whales, Pacific Whale Foundation is announcing the events of its upcoming 2014 Maui Whale Festival.

The reefs located at Olowalu are considered the most diverse of all of Maui’s coral reef ecosystems. Dr. Eric Brown once described the Olowalu reef as “the best leeward reef in Maui and probably the whole state.” 
 
With development plans underway for a community of 1,500 homes, plus shops, restaurants and more in Olowalu, what is being done to protect the beautiful and fragile reefs off shore?
 


 The 2013 Lahaina Halloween festivities are the place to be for Halloween fun on Maui. Getting there can be a bit ghoulish, which is why people in the know recommend cruising to the Lahaina festivities on a "spook-takular"  sunset cocktail cruise with Pacific Whale Foundation from Ma'alaea Harbor.
